Tim Dollimore - (UK) creates work within a variety of contexts and uses mixed mediums to make stuff... Currently employed as a lecturer as Dartington College of Arts, Tim runs a course titled 'Digital Arts Practices', which questions, provokes, promotes and analyses the use of technology in the creation of artwork and performance. He also runs 'The Media Workshop' a digital-media production company. He considers himself to be a trans-disciplinary artist who likes to mess about with tech. Tim's first creative outlet was playing the cello at the age of 5 and since then he has been trying a bit of everything really. The following list is stuff that Tim does or has done, which he considers relevant when forming an opinion of his diverse practice; fire-breathing, video installation, VJing, production management, musician, street theatre, event coordinator, dance, filmmaking, pyro-technician, web-design, youth workshops, software development, professional clown, circuit-bending, breaking stuff and fixing it. As an artist Tim likes to think about the interaction and point of interface between human and other, other often being the machine. He is interested in the affect these machines have within our daily life and the new ways of being that are emerging from these experiences. Recently Tim has produced a large scale video installation commission in Newcastle, Made a downhill biking film with some kids, created a promo DVD for a music industry company, worked on a fire sculpture and pyro show and stage-managed the circus Big Top at Glastonbury. He is currently practicing ping-pong…
Augusto Corrieri - (UK/Italy) is a chorographer and performance artist. He began performing from early on, as a close-up magician in Italy. In 1999 he moved to England to attend a degree in Theatre at Dartington College of Arts, after which he co-founded and worked with experimental performance company Deer Park. Since 2005 he has worked as a solo artist and choreographer, involving different people and artists depending on the nature of the project. His works playfully deconstruct theatrical presentation, inviting audience members to reflect critically on theatre, dance, and art in general. The choreographic element of his work lies not so much in the arrangement of bodily movements, but rather in the displacement and reversal of various theatrical elements: performers and spectators, light and darkness, music and silence, movement and stillness, etc. His work has been presented across the UK and in Europe. Since 2006 his performances have been funded by Arts Council England South East, supported by the Nightingale Theatre, and (since 2007) by South East Dance. He is a supported artist of the Basement Arts Production South East. Corrieri also teaches performance workshops at various universities, and writes on theatre for different contexts.
